Vicki McLeod
Vicki McLeod is a writer, author, coach, consultant and an award-winning entrepreneur. She is an advocate for mindful business, everyday happiness and living a life rich with meaning. She has nearly three decades of experience working with individuals, businesses, civic government and community agencies designing and delivering strategic communications and marketing strategies. She is also a gifted process coach with three decades of experience in the human potential field. She offers corporate and personal coaching, consulting, training, workshops and retreats. She is committed to building capacity for positive impact at home, at work or in the community. In the past several years she trained and mentored nearly 200 businesses province-wide and coached and mentored leaders, executive teams, and individuals to take inspiration and turn it into strategy. She has held management positions in the arts, environmental and economic development sectors.
She is the author of Effective Communication at Work, Speaking and Writing Well in the Modern Workplace (Rockridge Press 2020), You and the Internet of Things, A practical guide to understanding and integrating the IoT into your daily life (Self-Counsel Press 2020), #Untrending, A Field Guide to Social Media That Matters, How to Post, Tweet, and Like Your Way to a More Meaningful Life (First Choice 2016) and co-author of Digital Legacy Plan, A Guide to the Personal and Practical Elements of Your Digital Life Before You Die (Self-Counsel Press 2019) and wrote a biweekly newspaper column on the intersection of digital and analog life. She is passionate about being fully human in a technical world and using technology wisely and well.
Her short memoir piece, Georgie, was recently longlisted for the CBC 2020 Nonfiction Prize and she is the winner of the BC-Yukon 2020 Flash Fiction prize for My People Came Down from the Mountains.
Vicki was honoured as the 2014 Business Leader of the Year in Maple Ridge B.C., Canada and was shortlisted by Small Business BC as one of the Top 5 Online Marketers in the province in 2013 and nominated by RBC Women of Influence as a Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year for 2014 and 2015. She is the founder president of Main Street Communications Ltd.
